Purpose of Processing Personal Data
Moneta processes your personal data to carry out financial transactions and provide the services you request. This processing is necessary to identify senders and recipients of funds, and to fulfill our legal obligations to the Central Bank of Kosovo for transaction security and fraud prevention. Without this data, Moneta cannot technically or legally perform your financial transactions.
CCTV Monitoring
In compliance with the law, Moneta uses CCTV monitoring at authorized locations exclusively for the safety of clients and staff, and the protection of property. Recordings help prevent and detect criminal acts or financial fraud. Footage is stored securely for up to 30 days, after which it is automatically deleted, unless required as evidence by law enforcement.
Categories of Data Processed
For Senders:
- Identification data: Name, surname, valid ID or passport number.
- Contact and location data: Address and phone number.
- Additional data: Source of funds and purpose of transaction (as required by the Central Bank).
For Recipients:
- Verification data: Full name, valid ID or passport number, and reference number.
For All Visitors:
- Security data: CCTV recordings at authorized points, stored for safety and fraud prevention.
Data Sources
Data is collected only through Moneta’s authorized agent network:
- Direct collection from you at the agent’s office.
- Official documents you present for identification and verification.
- Secure transfer of collected data to Moneta’s central database.
Data Recipients
Moneta does not sell, exchange, or transfer your personal data to third parties for marketing or commercial gain. Data is shared only when legally required or necessary to fulfill contractual obligations, including:
- Regulatory institutions (Central Bank of Kosovo, Financial Intelligence Unit).
- International partner (MoneyGram) for executing transfers.
- Authorized agents (only necessary data for transactions).
- Law enforcement (police, courts) upon official request.
- External auditors when required by law.
- Technical service providers (bound by confidentiality contracts).
Your Rights
As a data subject, you have the right to:
- Access – Request confirmation and a copy of your data.
- Correction – Request immediate correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Deletion (“Right to be Forgotten”) – Request deletion of data, except where Moneta is legally obliged to retain transaction data for 5 years under anti‑money laundering laws.
- Restriction – Request limited processing in specific cases.
- Data Portability – Request your data in a structured format to transfer to another controller.
- Objection – Object to processing for direct marketing purposes.
Requests can be submitted in writing at our headquarters or via email to our Data Protection Officer. Moneta will respond within 30 days.
